To update cardbase:
There has been a lot of questions lately on how to update your card database in cockatrice when there is a new set release. May times people create custom card database files before the sets become available out on Wizards of the Coast Gatherer tool and we encourage the use of those files until the sets become available on the official download link (listed below). After the cards are officially released on the Gatherer and made available from for download on our site, we recommend users remove the hand created card databases from other sources and replace the card database with one created by the actual oracle tool. If you wish to not use the oracle tool, please follow these instructions below to update your cards database manually using Microsoft Windows. If you are not using windows, the steps should be taken as a general form of "how-to" and perform similar steps in your appropriate operating system using the tools that come with that operating system.
Tools Required:
Unzip Utility (such as 7zip)
Cards.xml file (official version listed below)
Steps:
1.) Download updated card database file (official version here)
2.) Locate your existing card database file (cockatrice -> settings)

4.) Open the cards.zip file in your zip file un-compression tool.

5.) Extract the cards.xml file from the .zip and replace your existing database file with new database file
